PJA Officers Take Oath before Chief Justice Peralta

January 30, 2020

Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta poses for posterity with the 2020-2022 national officers, regional directors, and deputies of the Philippine Judges Association (PJA) after they were sworn into office by the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court En Banc Session Hall this afternoon. In his speech, Chief Justice Peralta reminded the judges “to follow the rules” stressing that “you cannot be officers if you are not good followers.” He urged them to cascade his message to their fellow Regional Trial Court (RTC) judges. The PJA is the only association of RTC judges that is duly recognized by the Supreme Court. It aims to, among others, unite all judges of the RTCs, Sharia District Courts, and all such other courts of equal or similar jurisdictions; preserve and maintain the integrity and independence of the Judiciary by ensuring an efficient and speedy dispensation of justice under the rule of law; and foster a more fraternal relationship among its members by promoting cooperation and mutual understanding among them.
