Returning to his Public Service Roots. Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta visits the Office of the City Prosecutor in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on February 7, 2020. The Chief Justice first entered public service in 1987 as Third Assistant City Fiscal in Laoag City and, later as prosecutor in Manila. He then served as Quezon City Regional Trial Court Judge; then as Associate Justice of the Sandiganbayan, and, later, as its Presiding Justice; then as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court until he was appointed as the 26th Chief Justice of the Philippines on October 23, 2019. With the Chief Justice are his wife, Court of Appeals Justice Fernanda Lampas-Peralta (to his right), Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez (extreme right), Deputy Court Administrator Raoul B.
