Justice Priscilla Baltazar-Padilla Takes Oath as 188th SC Associate Justice

Justice Priscilla J. Baltazar-Padilla is sworn in as the 188th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines by Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta on July 17, 2020 at the En Banc Session Hall. Witnessing the oath-taking are (from left) nephew Rodel Baltazarson-in-law Kenneth Malibiran,daughter Queenie Venessi P. Malibiran, husband Atty. Hernando, and Associate Justice Rosmari D. Carandang. Prior to her appointment to the High Court, Justice Baltazar-Padilla served as Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals (CA) for 14 years. She joined the Judiciary in 1996 as Presiding Judge of Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 29, Manila and was promoted as Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 38, Manila in 2000. She obtained her law degree from the Lyceum of the Philippines, graduating magna cum laude. She placed fifth in the 1984 Bar Examinations. Born on July 2, 1958, she will mandatorily retire on her 70th birthday in 2028. Her appointment completes the 15-member roster of the High Tribunal.(Caption by Darylle Evie Mae C.
