May 7, 2019

Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin was invited by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and construction firm AlloyMTD for a site visit of the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) situated in the municipalities of Capas and Bamban in Tarlac on May 2, 2019. BCDA President and CEO Vivencio B. Dizon (wearing blue) and AlloyMTD Chairman, Engr. Isaac S. David (wearing the high-visibility vest and dark green shirt), delivered a brief presentation on the developments in the NGAC, which highlighted the 2019 Southeast Asian Games sports facilities and the 5.8-hectare lot allocated for the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Bersamin said, “the concept of the NGAC is a step in the right direction for the Philippines. The Supreme Court welcomes the opportunity to become a stakeholder and locator.” He envisions this lot to be an Archive Center, Data Center, and a Training Center with living quarters.

After the briefing, BCDA President Dizon led a quick tour of the Athletic Stadium built for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, which the Philippines is hosting in November to December 2019.

Associate Justices Andres B. Reyes, Jr. and Ramon Paul L. Hernando, Court Administrator Midas P. Marquez, Deputy Court Administrator for Luzon Raul B. Villanueva, Public Information Office Chief, and SC Spokesperson Brian Keith F. Hosaka, and Capas Mayor Reynaldo L. Catacutan were also present.
