Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin underscores the importance of legal education as he bid all participating stakeholders to voice their perceptions and opinions about the current state of legal education during the Regional Consultative Meeting for National Capital Region and CALABARZON on Legal Education held this morning, June 3, 2019, at Dr. Robert C. Sy Grand Ballroom, BGPOP Building, University of Santo Tomas in España, Manila. In his speech, Chief Justice Bersamin said: “The impact of legal education in the lives of our people is far reaching, and cannot be taken for granted. The law itself pervades so much of public policy and human affairs. There is no doubt at all, indeed, that legal education is essential to the maintenance of the Rule of Law, a regime that, for former UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, ‘is crucial for promoting economic growth, sustainable development, human rights and access to justice.’” The meeting at UST is the last of the consultative meetings prior to the Legal Education Summit (LES) which will take place sometime in July or August.
