Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin underscores the importance of the virtue of humility in judges during the retirement ceremonies for Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice Sesinando E. Villon (seated, right) on July 15, 2019 at the Rizal Park Hotel, Ermita, Manila. Looking on is CA Presiding Justice Romeo F. Barza. Citing Justice Villon’s humility, the Chief Justice says that it is “the hardest of all the desirable virtues for judges to attain, probably because of their exalted positions in the society.” Justice Villon joined the Judiciary in 1993 as Regional Trial Court Judge (RTC) in Macabebe, Pampanga until his appointment as RTC Judge in Manila in 1999. He was promoted as Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals in 2004. (Caption by Darylle Evie Mae C. Catabay; Photo by Francisco S. Gutierrez)
