Senior Associate Justice Carpio: Time Flies When You’re Working in SC

“I’ve been with the Court for 18 years. Numerically, it’s quite a long time. But for me, it looks like only yesterday that I arrived in the Supreme Court. There is so much work in the Supreme Court that you hardly notice the time pass by. Literally, time flies in the Supreme Court,” says Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio as he thanks the SC Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (SC PRAISE) Committee during the testimonial luncheon held in his and fellow retirees’ honor at the Training Center, Centennial Building, corner Taft Avenue and Padre Faura Street on July 18, 2019. SAJ Carpio, who is among the 40 SC PRAISE Service Awardees, mandatorily retires this October 26, 2019 when he turns 70, the constitutional mandatory retirement age for members of the Bar.
