Chief Justice Bersamin Underscores Importance of Loyal Service. “What is important to us is that we have served the Supreme Court very loyally, committed to our sworn obligations as stated in our oath of office whether we were judges or mere workers in the Judiciary, we did our jobs very well. I am sure of that because you are still here,” Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin tells fellow retirees in the Supreme Court during the testimonial luncheon held in their honor by the SC Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (SC PRAISE) Committee at the Training Center, Centennial Building, corner Taft Avenue and Padre Faura Street on July 18, 2019. Chief Justice is set to mandatorily retire when he turns 70, the constitutional mandatory retirement age for members of the Bench, this October 18, 2019. He has served the Judiciary first as a Quezon City Regional Trial Court in 1986.  In 2003, he was elevated to the Court of Appeals, and in 2009 to the High Court. He was appointed as the 25th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines on November 28, 2019. The Chief Justice is one of the 40 SC PRAISE Service Awardees this year. (Caption by Jay B.
