Chief Justice Listens to the “Story” of Consuelo. Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta shares a light moment with Atty. Carmela Andal-Castro, managing director of the Consuelo Foundation, during a courtesy call on the Chief Justice at the Dignitaries Lounge, New Supreme Court Building in Faura, Manila on Friday. Founded by the late Doña Consuelo Zobel de Ayala Alger, Consuelo Foundation is a 30-year old private philanthropic organization which is on a mission to protect children against child abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It has partnered with the Supreme Court, through its education arm, the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA), in providing anatomically-correct dolls as testimonial aids for use of children in family courts. It has also supported several batches of Competency Enhancement Training for judges and court personnel on cases involving children. (Caption by Jay B. Rempillo, Photo by Francisco S. Gutierrez)
