2 - Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos is executed in Malabang, Lanao in 1942

3 - In 2006, the Supreme Court upholds Presidential Proclamation 1017 declaring a state of national emergency insofar as it constitutes a call by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to prevent or suppress lawless violence under Sec. 17, Article VII of the Constitution but declares unconstitutional the provisions commanding the AFP to enforce laws not related to lawless violence and the decrees promulgated by the President in G.R. Nos. 171396, 171400, 171409, 171483, 171424, 171485, & 171489 (David v. Arroyo)

5 - The Royal Audiencia or High Court of Justice is established in Manila in 1583
