SC Celebrates Season of Love and Hope

For 2009, the Supreme Court has veered off from its usual Christmas celebration in light of the calamities that recently struck the country.

Thus, while previous Christmas outreach activities provided assistance to institutions housing  abandoned children, youth in conflict with the law, abused women, and the elderly, the SC has decided to give aid to court employees affected by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. Under the theme, “Paskong Puno ng Pag-ibig at Pag-asa,” the Court has opted to continue outreach efforts initiated in September for lower court employees in 14 different areas in Metro Manila affected by the two typhoons.

In just a few days I will hang my robe and bow out of the public eye. I could only look back to my over forty-seven year journey in government service and heave a sigh at the enormity of the work I was privileged to accomplish for the Filipino people and for God.

My exit from government service would have been a happier occasion for me and my family if not for the untimely demise of my spouse, Rod.  He was my staunchest ally and advocate. > MORE
