CJ Panganiban highlights ‘liberty and prosperity’ theme in US and European talks

Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban on a visit to key US and European cities highlighted before judicial, academic, and business audiences the comprehensive projects and achievements of the Philippine Judiciary’s Action Program for Judicial Reform (APJR), guided by his twin vision of liberty and prosperity.
In his speaking engagements, Chief Justice Panganiban expounded on his judicial philosophy of “safeguarding the liberty and nurturing the prosperity of our people, under the rule of law.”
Vowing to continue and revitalize the ongoing APJR, the Chief Justice told his various audiences that he would focus on addressing the four ACID problems that corrode justice in the Philippines. These are (1) limited access to justice by the poor; (2) corruption; (3) incompetence; and (4) delay in the delivery of quality judgments... > MORE
Acting Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno and the Lord Mayor of London Alderman David Brewer agree to explore further cooperative endeavors with the United Kingdom during the latter’s courtesy call at the SC Dignitaries’ Lounge on May 12. The visit is part of Brewer’s itinerary as he leads a British business delegation to various countries in Asia.
