Justice Edgardo L. Justice Delos Santos hangs up his robe as the 186th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines a year ahead of his mandatory age of retirement of 70.
Prior to his 2019 appointment to the High Court, Justice Delos Santos was the Executive Justice of the Court of Appeals (CA) in Cebu City. He rose from the ranks having started his career in the Judiciary as a Court Legal Researcher while completing his studies at the University of San Carlos College of Law.
He was appointed as Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court of Siaton, Negros Oriental in 1983. After the EDSA Revolution, he was re-appointed in 1987 as Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities – Branch 1 of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. In 1993, he was promoted as Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 45 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. He was promoted as CA Associate Justice in 2008.
