Justice Lazaro-Javier was appointed Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals in 2007. A Bar passer in 1982, Justice Lazaro-Javier completed her law degree at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Faculty of Civil Law as class valedictorian (Magna Cum Laude) and Rector’s Awardee for Academic Excellence. She was also a consistent university scholar, editor-in-chief of the UST Law Journal, and a debater for the Faculty’s debating team. In 1983, Justice Lazaro-Javier joined the Office of the Solicitor General and was appointed as an Assistant Solicitor General in 2004.
