SAJ Carpio’s ‘Legacy’ to SC Library

Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio keeps promise by donating to the Supreme Court library books on international laws of the sea on Monday morning, October 21, 2019. SAJ Carpio pledged to donate books to the SC Library from the cash incentive he had received from his March 15, 2019 lecture in the Founding Chancellor Emeritus Justice Ameurfina A. Melencio-Herrera Professional Lecture Series on the topic “The South China Sea Dispute at the Philippine Judicial Training (PhilJA) Training Center in Tagaytay. SAJ Carpio has personally handpicked all 18 books, which he had used as reference in his lectures on the West Philippine Sea. The books include United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, A Commentary by C.H. Beck, Hart, Nomos; The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea: Law, Practice and Procedure by P. Chandrasekhara Rao and Philippe Gautier; Law of the Sea: The Library of Essay in International Law by Hugo Caminos; and The South China Sea Arbitration, The Legal Dimension by S.
