Justice Caguioa Motivates Examinees as 9,190 Candidates Complete Third Day of 2022 Bar Exams
November 16, 2022
Supreme Court Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa, 2022 Bar Exams Chairperson, has urged all Bar examinees to ―dig in your heels, and prepare to make this final sprint to the finish line‖ as they make it halfway through the Bar Examinations.
Justice Caguioa gave his message two days before 9,190 bar examinees took and completed both tests on Civil Law I and Civil Law II (and Practical Exercises) on November 16, 2022, the third day of the 2022 Bar Examinations. This figure is equivalent to a 91.84% turnout.
“You are just two Bar days away from the finish line. So, if you are thinking of quitting now, don’t. Stay the course. Plod on. Let no one undermine the courage, fortitude and strength that it took for you to arrive at today,” said Justice Caguioa in a video message uploaded to the official Supreme Court YouTube Channel and posted on the Supreme Court website on November 15, 2022.
Justice Caguioa further advised the examinees: “When you feel like giving up, take a pause — and then discard that feeling, because after the last two Bar days you just hurdled, you know in your bones you can go on.” He also reminded them to continue to self-quarantine and to carefully observe the health protocols to keep yourself healthy.
“Quiet your minds. Still your souls. And recall why and for whom you are doing this – your families and loved ones, the people you hope to help, the schools you wish to give back to, the nation you want to serve. Maraming nagmamahal at naghihintay sa inyo, so — for them — be dauntless. Fight and stay on. Refuse to give up,” were Justice Caguioa’s words of encouragement.
The fourth and final day of the Bar Exams will be on November 20, 2022, with Remedial Law I examinations in the morning and Remedial Law II (with Basic Tax Remedies) and Legal Ethics examinations in the afternoon.
Justice Caguioa continued to monitor the conduct of the 2022 Bar Examinations held in 14 local testing centers nationwide from the Command Center at the Ateneo de Manila University. He visited the testing center at the University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City.
The other Justices of the Supreme Court who inspected local testing centers nationwide were Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen (University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City and San Beda University; Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando (University of San Carlos and University of Cebu); Justice Mario V. Lopez (Ateneo de Davao University); Justice Jose Midas P. Marquez (Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation – Tacloban); and Justice Maria Filomena D. Singh (DLSU – Lipa).
