Microsoft Officials Pay Courtesy Call on CJ Gesmundo, SC Associate Justices

Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo and the Associate Justices of the Supreme Court were paid a courtesy call by Microsoft Philippines officials on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Session Hall of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
During the meeting, Chief Justice Gesmundo underscored the digital transformation to be embarked by the Judiciary as part of the Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027. This includes the utilization of technology in the creation and operation of the Office of the Judiciary Marshals Office under RA 11691, with its broad responsibility of protecting Justices, judges, and court employees, as well as the physical assets of the Court.
Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen, Chairperson of the SC Committee on Computerization and Library, also noted specific areas where the employment of technology is essential for the Judiciary, such as in the digitalization of court documents and in the streamlining of court processes, including electronic filing and online payments, with the ultimate vision of “a court where digitalization equalizes the opportunities for many of our litigants.” (Courtesy of the SC Public Information Office)
