Retired SC Justice Carandang Takes Oath as New PhilJA Chancellor

Retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Rosmari D. Carandang takes her oath as new Chancellor of the Philippine Judicial Academy before Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo at the Supreme Court Session Hall this afternoon. The second female retired Associate Justice appointed as head of PhilJA, the Court’s education arm, Chancellor Carandang mandatorily retired as Supreme Court justice last January 9. She served in the High Court for over three years. Chancellor Carandang is the fourth retired Associate Justice of the Supreme Court to be named to the top helm of PhilJA. She replaced retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Arturo D. Brion, who in turn succeeded retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Adolfo S. Azcuna.
