Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, Justice Jose Midas P. Marquez, and Court Administrator Raul B. Villanueva visited the Halls of Justice in Baguio City on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, during the second week of the 2022 Supreme Court Summer Session.
In his message, Chief Justice Gesmundo reminded judges of their mission to dispense justice and to observe the constitutionally mandated requirements of competence, integrity, probity, and independence.
Likewise, the Chief Justice reminded the trial court judges that they are the Judiciary’s frontliners who form the base of the pyramid, which is the foundation of the structure of the Judiciary.
He has underscored on several occasions that “the strength of the Judiciary lies on the first and second level courts,” being the base and strength of the pyramid. “If the base is weak, expect that those in the upper level will collapse. As frontliners, you are the reflection of the Judiciary,” Chief Justice stressed.
Chief Justice Gesmundo exhorted all judges and court employees to “perform our duties in the best way we can.” (Courtesy of the SC Public Information Office)
