SC Closes 2024 Women’s Month Celebration with Outreach Program at Correctional Institution for Women

The Supreme Court Committee on Gender Responsiveness in the Judiciary (CGRJ), represented by the lawyers and staff members of the Offices of CGRJ Co-Chairpersons Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting, Associate Justice Jhosep Y. The Supreme Court held an outreach program to benefit the women in conflict with the law at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City on April 18, 2024.
The outreach program is the culminating activity of the Court’s 2024 Women’s Month Celebration. It was facilitated by the Employee Training and Development Division (ETDD), Office of Administrative Services (OAS), in coordination with the Committee on Gender Responsiveness in the Judiciary (CGRJ), which was represented by the Offices of its Co-Chairpersons: Office of Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting, Office of Associate Justice Jhosep Y. Lopez, and Office of Associate Justice Maria Filomena D. Singh.
The donations in the form of sacks of rice, miscellaneous food and self-care items, were received by CT/SSupt. Cynthia N. Andrada, Acting Director, Directorate for Reception and Diagnostics, and C/SSupt. Daisy Sevilla-Castillote, Acting Superintendent of the CIW.
Justice Singh, as CGRJ Co-Chairperson, later delivered an inspirational message to the CIW inmates. The Technical Working Group to Develop the Protocol for Handling of Cases of Women in Conflict with the Law also held a panel interview conducted by CGRJ Vice Chairperson Associate Justice Maria Theresa V. Mendoza-Arcega of the Sandiganbayan, with Associate Justice Jaime Fortunato A. Caringal of the Court of Appeals, Assistant Secretary Randolph A.
