Leading the PCC was its Chairperson, Atty. Michael G. Aguinaldo, who was joined by PCC Commissioners Atty. Marah Victoria S. Querol, Atty. Lolibeth Ramit-Medrano, and Atty. Ferdinand M. Negre, and PCC Executive Director Kenneth V. Tanate.
Chief Justice Gesmundo took the opportunity to share with the PCC officials the Supreme Court’s blueprint for reform, the Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027 (SPJI), which includes the strengthening of judicial education as one of its projects in order to increase the efficiency in our courts. The Chief Justice noted that under the SPJI, the PHILJA will continue to educate judges on competition law, among other specialized and growing fields in law.
Chief Justice Gesmundo stressed that in accordance with the technology-driven thrust under the SPJI, the training of judges has been enhanced, maximizing online and digital resources to complement face-to-face instruction.
PHILJA Chancellor Carandang also shared that since 2012, the PHILJA has conducted 11 seminar-workshops for Special Commercial Court Judges and its Pairing Courts on competition policy and law, including on the Philippine Competition Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the Rule on Administrative Search and Inspection under the Philippine Competition Act.
