Speaking during the Groundbreaking of the Court of Tax Appeals Building III in Diliman, Quezon City, Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo today underscored the importance of integrity and dignity in the Judiciary as he stressed that the majesty of the Court does not lie in its halls and buildings but in “the integrity of our magistrates and the wisdom of their decisions.”
The Chief Justice also reminded the CTA officials and employees that the service of justice also lies with their prompt and appropriate response to the concerns of our people.
“For neither our halls nor our walls will earn us the dignity and the respect of our people if we fail to serve what they come here for,” he added.
Chief Justice Gesmundo, who visited the CTA for the first time since his appointment as head of the Judiciary, also took the opportunity to introduce the Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027, the institutional blueprint of the Supreme Court En Banc’s plans and programs for the “delivery of responsive and real-time justice.”
In closing, he expressed hope that the new building will serve as testament to the CTA’s efforts in pursing the objective of our tax laws and the vision of the Supreme Court.
