The Supreme Court, in today’s En Banc deliberations, noted the consolidated comment by Roel R. Degamo dated October 7, 2022 in G.R. No. 262622 and in G.R. No. 262682 (“Petitions”).
Roel R. Degamo was named respondent in G.R. No. 262622, with Pryde Henry A. Teves as petitioner. He was also a respondent in G.R. No. 262682, with Grego “Ruel” G. Degamo as petitioner.
The Court also granted the motion for additional time to file consolidated comment filed by the Office of the Solicitor General for the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for a period of 30 days. The COMELEC was named as co-respondent of Roel R. Degamo in the Petitions.
The application for a temporary restraining order in the Petitions was also taken up during the deliberations today, and the Court took no action. The Petitions were in connection with the gubernatorial race in Negros Oriental last May 2022 elections.
